Abstract
We have generated 1.8 picosecond pulses from a CW mode-locked Nd:YAG laser using the technique of optical pulse compression.[1-4] Our compressor incorporates a novel grazing incidence delay line which is compact and reduces the ellipticity of the output beam. We have observed pulse compression ratios of 45:1 and generated visible picosecond pulses by second harmonic generation.
