An All-Silicon Photodetector for 850 nm Wavelength Applications

Abstract

A silicon photodetector is presented with increased sensitivity using a focused grating coupler to efficiently redirect the incident light. At 35 Gb/s, the BER is 10–12, making it the fastest of its type.
