Bit Flow Density (BFD): An Effective Performance FOM for Optical On-chip Interconnects

Abstract

Here we propose a new figure of merit for optical on-chip links and networks named Bit Flow Density, as an useful evaluation index combining latency, throughput and footprint for precise crosstalk-based on-chip network design.
