High-performance Optical Modulator Based on Electro-optic Polymer Infiltrated Silicon Slot Photonic Crystal Waveguide

Abstract

We demonstrate a low-dispersion, sub-volt, and compact optical modulator based on electro-optic polymer infiltrated slot photonic crystal waveguide. Vπ×L=0.291±0.006V×mm and effective in-device r33=1190pm/V over 8nm optical bandwidth are measured.
