Abstract
Strong light-boundary interactions fundamentally alter the nature of traveling-wave photon-phonon coupling at nanoscales. Harnessing these interactions, stimulated Brillouin scattering is demonstrated silicon nano-photonics for the first time through a new class of hybrid photonic-phononic waveguides.
