Design of Ultra-Small Mode-Evolution Type Polarization Rotator Based on Surface Plasmon Polariton

Abstract

We propose an ultra-small polarization rotator based on a surface plasmon polariton phenomenon. Numerical simulations show that a 5-μm-long polarization rotator with extinction ratio better than −15 dB on the entire C-band is achievable.
