Low Power SiGe Electroabsorption Modulators for Optical Interconnects

Abstract

We demonstrate low voltage quantum-confined Stark effect electroabsorption in a Ge/SiGe quantum well diode with a new thin intrinsic layer design, showing the potential for absorptive modulators with low photocurrent dissipation power.
