Abstract
For simulating photonic crystal devices with a triangular lattice structure, it is advantageous to use hexagon unit cells and truncate the domain along the edges of these unit cells. The perfectly matched layer (PML) technique is widely used to absorb outgoing waves in numerical simulations. A PML that conforms to triangular lattices is developed in this paper.
