Abstract

We present the design and characterization of transmitter and receiver building blocks developed for multi-guide vertical integration and implementable in a one-step growth process in InP. While both blocks are fully compatible with an integration platform, the transmitter exhibits good power and spectral characteristics while the receiver demonstrates high responsivity and wide alignment tolerance.
