Low Saturation Design of Nonlinear Electroabsorption Devices

Abstract

Low saturation power is the key to apply electroabsorption devices in optical signal processing. We show that light-hole excitonic transition excited by optical transverse magnetic (TM) mode can reduce the saturation power by a factor of about three.
