Abstract
Sapphire-bonded photonic crystal laser cavities were fabricated and characterized under room temperature continuous wave operation, and a side-mode-suppression-ratio of 28 dB was observed. The lasing modes and their spectra agree with the theoretical prediction from the three-dimensional finite-difference timedomain method.
