Abstract

The all-optical switching device based on an intensity-dependent refractive index change in a GaInAsP/InP highmesa DFB waveguide is investigated with a vertical-groove grating structure. The bistable operation is demonstrated with an on/off extinction ratio of 10dB. Also, its temporal response is investigated with a short pump pulse.
