Abstract
Electromagnetic induced transparency (EIT) [1] is a technique that offers a possibility to dynamically engineer the susceptibilities of materials, potentially allowing for large increases in the density of photonic components, as well as the development of functions of impossible implementation with existing integrated optical technologies. The increase in density is due to the order of magnitude decrease in interaction lengths and the potential ultra-low power dissipation in adiabatic structures. In this work we show a possible application of EIT in producing an extremely selective wavelength coupler filter. We next study the performance and limitations of the device with respect to the physical parameters involved.
