Reliable Low Cross Talk Digital Optical Switch Based on a Cascade Like Structure with Small Dimensions

Abstract

Based on the y-branched digital optical switch (DOS) a new device was realized which is basically a cascade of two switching stages shifted into one another. The device demonstrates an almost doubled cross talk suppression (best value −40dB) and no additional space requirements.
