Abstract

We present new equivalence relationships between the dispersion compensation (DC) characteristics of chirped AWGs and FBGs. These results are used to design a FBG configuration offering virtually ripple-free 3rd-order DC of 6.61ps/nm2 over 100GHz bandwidth.
