Periodically-Coupled GaAs/AlGaAs Microring Array Filter with Wide Free Spectral Range

Abstract

We present the design, fabrication and performance of a periodically-coupled three-ring GaAs/AlGaAs resonator array. Vernier effect in the array results in a three-fold increase in the overall free spectral range over that of a single microring resonator.
