Abstract

A Tb/s-throughput packet switch prototype based on WD/SD architecture has been developed. The architecture reduces switch volume to one-eighth that of a simple SD switch. The prototype features quick optical packet synchronization technology, electronic buffers and a switch arbitration circuit.
