Abstract
The possibility of implementing secure optical communication systems based on chaotic data encryption has recently stimulated interest in controlling and synchronising chaotic dynamics in lasers [1] and, in particular, in semiconductor lasers [2-4] where chaos control techniques can also be used for ensuring immunity to coherence collapse [5].
