Nano-Photonic Electro-Optic Polymer Modulator based on Photonic Band Gap Engineering

Abstract

A nano-photonic electro-optic polymer modulator based on shifting the band diagram of the photonic crystal waveguide is presented. Simulations results show that the device is as short as 20μm and consumes only 25fJ/bit energy.
