Abstract

A finite-difference frequency-domain (FDFD) method based full-vectorial eigen-mode solver is developed for analyzing anisotropic optical waveguides with arbitrary permittivity tensor. Guided modes on liquid-crystal-filled optical waveguides with different liquid-crystal molecular orientations are solved and discussed.
