Abstract

A new method for analyzing diffraction gratings is developed based on an integral equation approach to calculate the Neumann-to-Dirichlet maps for homogeneous sub-domains. The method shares the advantages of existing boundary integral equation methods, but avoids the quasi-periodic Green’s function which is difficult to evaluate.
