CMOS-Compatible Wideband Silicon Modulator

Abstract

A Mach-Zehnder based silicon optical modulator has been demonstrated with a bandwidth of 26 GHz and a VπL of 2 V·cm. The design of this modulator does not require an epitaxial overgrowth.
