Mapping the Field Distribution of a Photonic Crystal Resonator, using Transmission SNOM

Abstract

We show that transmission SNOM (T-SNOM) can be used for imaging optical intensity distributions in a photonic crystal resonator with a resolution better than 100 nm. Two alternatives are explored: contact and tapping mode operation.
