Abstract

We presented in this article the investigation of few mode optical fibers for fiber-to-the-home application. Numerical simulation shows that the proposed fiber can support single-mode operation by connecting the fiber with single-mode optical fibers at the two ends of the fiber. Owing to the increased index-difference, low bending loss can be achieved in the proposed fiber.
