Arrayed Wide-Angle Camera System (AWACS) for the Extremely Large Telescopes

Abstract

The author presents the Arrayed Wide-Angle Camera System (AWACS), a new kind of astronomical wide-field device that can overcome the scalability barriers of the conventional systems to enable the much-desired wide-field capability for the ELTs.
