Spatial Light Modulators: Single-Photon, Spatial-Mode Analyzers

Abstract

Spatial Light Modulators (SLM) are pixellated display devices that can transform the phasefronts of the reflected light. Acting as programmable diffractive optical components they can transform between any two spatial modes and therefore form the basis of single-photon, spatial mode analyzers.
