Nonlinear quantum optics in micro-ring resonators: promise and problems

Abstract

We show that second order nonlinear optical effects can be greatly enhanced in microring resonator structures even in the presence of material and modal dispersion, without the need for artificially structuring the nonlinear properties of the waveguides.
