Derivation of clear-sky longwave spectral flux solely from hyperspectral observations: a case study with AIRS observations

Abstract

We extend the algorithm developed by Huang et al. (2008) to derive clear-sky longwave spectral fluxes exclusively from AIRS radiance alone. Clear-sky and scene-type information are determined using AIRS radiances. Performance of the algorithms is quantified.
