Abstract

Laser-diode (~1.71 μm) pumped Zn1-xMnxSe:Cr2+,Fe2+ (x = 0.05) crystal through Cr2+→Fe2+ energy-transfer resulting in ~4.19 μm lasing within temperature range of 78–110 K, maximum mean laser output power of 4.1 mW, and slope-efficiency of 2.3% is presented.
