First operation above PetaWatt with sub-25 fs pulses

Abstract

We describe a Titanium:Sapphire based PetaWatt laser delivering pulses of peak power reaching 1.1 PetaWatt with an unprecedented pulse width as low as 24.2 fs at a repetition rate of 0.1 Hz.
