Abstract

A method to eliminate the bifurcation of powerful laser channels and restore the stable single-channel mode of relativistic/ponderomotive self-channeling has been experimentally verified. Recent experiments confirm the presence of the anisotropic component in Xe(L) emission induced from Xe target irradiated with stable channels and indicate the strong amplification of certain Xe(L) lines at ~ 2.9 Å.
