Optical Biosensor for in situ metabolite quantification in plant leaves

Abstract

We present a strategy based on the optical properties of the G-cuadruplex DNA-bound NMM IX dye to successfully quantify plant metabolites. As a proof of concept, we quantify the caffeine metabolite from Ilex guayusa leaves.
