Sub-wavelength-width Space-Time Surface Plasmon Polaritons on Unpatterned Surfaces

Abstract

We propose propagation-invariant pulsed surface plasmon polaritons at unpatterned metal-dielectric interfaces that are localized in all dimensions (transverse and longitudinal) and yet maintain sub-wavelength-widths by incorporating judicious spatiotemporal spectral correlations in the optical field.
