The paper to analyze this week is “In vivo adaptive optics imaging and quantitative analysis of nerve fiber layer morphology and microstructure in papilledema and normal eyes” that includes the usage of the algorithm developed. They said that Adaptive optics (AO) images of the retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) offer potential as important biomarkers of retinal health in diseases. They investigate how RNFL morphology and microstructure is altered in papilledema secondary to idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH). For the development of the method, they use Adaptive optics scanning light ophthalmoscopy (AOSLO) was used to image the RNFL of three eyes with IIH and four controls. So far, we have some definitions of techniques and methods to analyze.
