Enhanced resolution in remote sensing using UV filaments with long pulses

Abstract

We present high resolution spectroscopy of solid samples from 200ps UV filaments. The temperature gradient on the expanding plume results into self-absorption of the hot plasma by the surrounding colder regions improving the resolution.
