High-Efficiency Multiplexing of Quantum Information in Optical Temporal Modes

Abstract

Information can be encoded using temporal modes—sets of field-orthogonal wave- packet shapes. Using a two-stage frequency-conversion scheme in MgO:PPLN, we demonstrate improved mode selectivity for the first three natural (“Schmidt”) modes of the FC process.
