Abstract

Using computer simulation based on 1D multilevel Maxwell-Bloch system of equations we demonstrate a transform of substance absorption properties due to SHG on the spectrum part corresponding to doubled frequencies of few-cycle THz pulse that transmits through the substance. We demonstrate that the absorption frequencies appearing in the range of frequencies belonging to incident pulse spectrum are replicated in the up-converted frequencies. We also claim that there is a significant dependence of the spectrum shape for the up-converted frequencies on the incident pulse duration.
