Experimental Observation of Second Harmonic Generation in polymeric Carbon Dioxide

Abstract

Close to 20% efficiency of second harmonic generation is observed in polymeric CO2 synthesized under novel conditions. This polymeric phase of CO2 retains its non-linear optical properties over a broad range of pressures and temperatures.
