Towards the generation of entangled photon pairs using a tapered fiber coupler

Abstract

We present the first steps towards the generation of entanglement photon pairs by spontaneous four wave mixing inside a microcoupler device made by tapering two touching silica fibers until their core diameter reaches a few micrometers.
