Quantification of Fluorescence Enhancement Due to Dielectrophoresis and the Plasmonic Effect Using Time-Resolved Fluorescence

Abstract

We used time-resolved fluorescence to show that dielectrophoresis can increases the fluorescence emission due to the plasmonic effect near nanostructured metallic electrodes by a factor of 3, which can significantly reduce the detection sensitivity.
