Abstract
A novel and cost-effective adaptive optics system for imaging the retina is presented. The system synchronizes linear LED illumination patterns from a digital light projector to electronic rolling shutter detection in a CMOS camera, permitting real-time adjustments of the confocal aperture width and position to optimize the visualization of capillary flow and photoreceptor cones.
