Abstract

Using an uncoated chalcogenide tapered fiber as a high ideality coupler, we demonstrate ultra-high quality factors deep in the mid-infrared with crystalline microres-onators. Due to low multiphonon absorption we obtain the highest mid-infrared optical finesse.
