Abstract

New frequency comb sources based on femtosecond lasers, difference frequency generation, optical parametric oscillations and the Kerr effect in microresonators bring novel, powerful spectroscopic techniques to the mid-infrared spectral region crucial for direct molecular spectroscopy.
