Optimized Photonic Structures for GV/M Laser Acceleration of Electrons

Abstract

We review the electromagnetic design, fabrication and beam dynamics of GV/m dielectric laser accelerators. Challenges encountered at ultra-high field and micron scale are discussed, as are application of these devices to novel light sources.
