Discrete Speckle: Localization and Coherence in Anderson-Disordered Lattices

Abstract

We show that extended coherent light traveling through photonic lattices with disorder exhibits reduction of the coherence width as disorder increases, and emergence of speckle with grain dimensions proportional to the Anderson localization length.
