Abstract

Intravital microscopy techniques such as single-photon intravital microscopy, multiphoton laser-scanning microscopy, optical frequency domain imaging and endomicroscopy together with a number of sophisticated animal models have been providing unprecedented insight into tumor biology from angiogenesis, vascular function, microcirculation and microenvironment, extracellular matrix and behavior of various host stromal cells, immune cells and tumor cells, as well as transport properties in solid tumors (1–3).
