Single-Crystal, Rare-Earth Doped-YAG Fibers Grown by the Laser Heated Pedestal Growth Technique

Abstract

Erbium doped single crystal YAG fibers were grown using the laser heated pedestal growth technique. The radial distribution of Erbium ions is uniform and the near-infrared ASE spectrum of the fiber was measured.
