New insight into corneal micro-structure with polarization-resolved second harmonic generation microscopy

Abstract

We developed polarization-resolved SHG microscopy to investigate the three-dimensional organization of the collagen fibrils and lamellae in unstained human corneas. In vivo imaging was demonstrated. Multiphoton microscopy was then performed during mechanical assays.
