Thorough Correction to Mie’s Solution for Plasmonic Metal Nano-Spheres

Abstract

Mie’s solution to the Maxwell’s equations misbehaves when applied to the analysis of metal nano-spheres due to its negative permittivity. I show adopting complex conjugate solutions is essential to achieve thorough correction to it.
