Generation of Few-Cycle 2.2-mJ Pulses at 2.05 μm by Type II Optical Parametric Amplification in BBO

Abstract

We demonstrate the production of 2.2-mJ, 87-fs mid-infrared laser pulses at 2.05 μm by a two-stage type-II BBO optical parametric amplifier pumped by a 10-Hz commercial Ti:sapphire laser system.
